Have I mentioned how great it is to cover a losing team during a bye week (I do actually love it)?

With a lot of uncertainty about his playing career, Peyton Manning is bound to be thinking what his next move is going to be. Being the fairly smart guy that he is, it would be shocking for him to not have a Plan B ready to go in case he never puts the pads on again.

So what is available to Peyton? Lets imagine...

1.) Coach Manning-- this is entirely possible. it is no secret that Peyton has essentially been allowed to do his thing on offense for years. As an offensive coordinator he would be a solid choice. With his talent for dissecting defenses I wouldn't put it past him to be able to handle that side of the ball either. No team would hire a quarterback as a defensive coordinator though; head coach...maybe...

Dear ole' Dad is one the committee that is trying to find the next coach for Ole Miss. Rumor has it that Peyton's name has come up:

"I've gotten about 20 or 25 e-mails from people in that regard," said the elder Manning. "I passed that on to Peyton. He said, 'Just tell them that I'm 0-10 as an assistant for Indianapolis.'"

2.) Commentator-- with all the commercials that he's done and with his time on SNL he has shown that he is more than comfortable on camera. I think the networks will be falling all over themselves to see if he can talk about dissecting defenses as well as he actually dissects them.

3.) Unemployment Line-- Why not? The man has been working hard for years and deserves a break. He's not stupid so I imagine his bank balance is pretty nice (heck, how much did he get for not playing this season?).

4.) Author-- what well-known athlete doesn't write a book these days?

5.) Rapper-- yeah, I know, it will never happen. I just wanted to say it. (MC Pigskin Tosser in the hiz0ouse!)
