Rumor has it that when I was born in the great state of Texas that they put a football in his hands and he hiked it to his older brother. The love affair with sports continued to blossom from there into basketball (Go Mavs!), baseball, rugby, wrestling, golf--pretty much if it can be called a competition I will watch it!

Of course growing up it was all about football in Texas and that meant the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Oilers. I got to tell you--it broke my heart when the Oilers left town; almost as much as when they blew a 35 point lead in the playoffs back in the earl 90s. That left me with the Dallas Cowboys till the Houston Texans formed back in '02.

Anyway...circumstances found me living in Indianapolis back in 2001. When you live here there is one thing you can't hear enough about--Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.

At first, I resisted the lure of the fast paced offense and the high scoring games. I stayed true to my roots. I cheered when the Texans came to town, and cried when they left. However, after awhile I came to a stark realization--these Colts aren't half bad.

In time, I grew to look forward to watching the Colts play. I recorded the Cowboys so I could watch the Colts live. I drafted Peyton Manning and bashed Tony Romo to my in-laws (and meant it). When the Colts made it to the Super Bowl I was excited. When they won, I felt like I won.

A decade ago I would have never imagined that I would be writing a blog on the Indianapolis Colts. Today, I find myself saying when do the Boys in Blue and White play next!

Go Colts!!!
