(From Sportress of Blogitude)

I saw a couple of things in the news today about the Colts and coaches that I felt the need to comment on in this fine space that this blog has been given thanks to the internet Gods.

First thing involves former secondary coach Alan Williams. This man must give one heck of an interview; either that or he has something on Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier. Why else would Leslie hire Williams to be his defensive coordinator next season? Did he not see the way the Colts secondary played for the vast majority of the season? To say those guys were horrible would be an understatement!

Frazier must have a ton of confidence that Christian Ponder is going to really blossom next season along with Adrian Peterson returning stronger than ever. That is the only way hiring Williams makes sense to me (either that or he must be working really, really, really cheap.

Secondly, a reporter on another site stated that he has it from a reliable source that there is no way in heck that former national champion Jim Tressel will be the next head coach of the franchise.

Not only is the statement plumb stupid, but not giving this guy just consideration would be an absolute mistake. Here you have a guy that has led a team to the national championship and been in contention for many others has to know what he's doing. Before some of you start making comments about all the college coaches that sucked in the NFL, let me remind you about this guy named Jimmy Johnson that did pretty good; Pete Carrol hasn't been half bad either.
