When Blount broke free for his last big run of the night I couldn't help but scream, "Aww Coconuts!"

Hey, I have two kids, ages 1 and 2. I watch a lot of the Disney Channel, and am not afraid to say I dig the songs on Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Anyway...

A game like last night would not hurt as much if it had happened in the first week. At least then we could say,"Okay guys, not bad. With some practice we'll get better and in a few weeks we'll be in decent shape.:

Instead, it happened one-quarter of the way into the season. Ouch.

On a positive note, it shows that there is hope for the team. The offense did make some first downs. Curtis Painter had some good throws in their. Pierre Garcon had a pair of great catches and runs for scores. Austin Collie had a grab that darn near looked like the snatched within millimeters.

The defense played tough. Freeney, Mathis, Angerer (coolest football name ever), Wheeler--solid efforts. You guys played your hearts out and really gave the offense plenty of chances to get on track, but when you are on the field for 39:00 of the game that's not good. Even the best defenses in the league need a breather.

My expectations were not super high for this one, although I did think there was a chance that the Colts could win. For the second week in a row they got pretty darn close. Being competitive is a pretty small consolation prize though.

I expected Curtis Painter to have some not-so-good moments. It happens when you don't practice a lot. I didn't realize just how much of a patchwork offensive line the Colts had until the announcers started talking about how most of them were undrafted free agents. They started out okay, but really dropped off a lot before the game ended.

I wasn't crazy about some of the play calling either. I found it hard to see just what the team was trying to establish most of the time. Painter had the ball moving in the first quarter, but the offense disappeared with the exception of Garcon's two monster plays.If we are going to air it out, I wish they would let Painter do it. If they are going to run, than commit to it and just do it. To me the calls seemed to be a bit scatterbrained; like they were calling the game according to the safest play to run instead of trying to win.

From what I hear, defensive tackle Eric Foster has already had surgery on his dislocated ankle (yea, that injury looked nasty last night), and is expected to stay in Florida for a few days before coming home.

Final score last night-- 24-17, Tampa Bay.

Well, back to the drawing board as they say. The Chiefs come into Lucas Oil Stadium next week so let's get ready Colts Fans!
